The Ancestors

Getting to know our ancestors and their stories
is a deeply rewarding adventure.
It can greatly enhance our understanding of who we are,
and of history, as it is embodied in the real lives of our forebears.
No matter how much our ideas or way of life may differ from theirs,
we can come to appreciate their strengths and virtues
and hope to manifest those in our lives.

Tracing the history of my family back through the years
begins with
my parents and grandparents
from whom I received, along with so much else,
the genealogical information
that got me started on compiling the whole tree.
